ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH

SERVING WEST TEXAS COMMUNITIES

Home: Welcome

OUR MISSION

As the assigned Roman Catholic parish in Marfa, Texas belonging to the Diocese of El Paso, Texas and serving the southwest area of Texas and beyond, the community of St. Mary’s follows and preserves the rich traditions and heritage of the Roman Catholic Church under the leadership of its supreme pastor the Roman Pontiff, and the Diocesan Bishop elect.

The community of St. Mary’s strives to be rooted in the Holy Eucharist and in prayer to strengthen its members in a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. It welcomes all to its family of faith to grow in discipleship of Christ our Lord, to grow all our talents for the glory of God, the good of our community, and the service to each other.

Our mission is to share the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ through the celebrations of the Liturgy and the Holy Eucharist, the Sacraments, Eucharistic Adoration, and prayer, and to serve others through spiritual and corporal works of mercy.

We consecrate our parish to the Blessed Virgin Mary who is our model and Patroness in our spiritual journey.

Home: Who We Are

“Thou alone and thy Mother are in all things fair, there is no flaw in thee and no stain in thy Mother.”

Ephraem, Nisibene Hymns, 27:8 (A.D. 370)

TITHING

Without the generosity and support of St. Mary's members, our mission would not flourish the way it currently does. Sunday offertory giving underwrites our annual operating expenses, from programs and ministries to staff and building maintenance. The St. Mary community owns its mission and keeps it going strong.

While we know that everyone cannot make equal gifts, the opportunity to make equal sacrifices strengthens our faith community and furthers the good work of so many. We cannot thank you enough for your kind commitment and we are extremely grateful for your generosity, participation, and spirit.
