COVID-19 UPDATE

In the spring of 2020, COVID-19 shocked the world and made everyone panic. Businesses and institutions had to close their doors, people lost their jobs, hospitals ran out of rooms to admit their patients, and churches were closed to protect the health and lives of the parishioners. Since then, the situation has improved substantially, so that our mass and office schedules are back to normal. In continuing to protect ourselves against COVID-19, hand sanitizers, disinfectant wipes, and face masks are provided by the church for all the parishioners coming in for mass. Wearing a face mask is now optional; however, the unvaccinated are encouraged to wear it for their safety and others.

For our elderly and infirmed members of the community, if you need to receive any sacrament, like the sacrament of anointing, viaticum (the last rite for the dying), house blessing, and sacramentals, please do not hesitate to call the parish office.

St. Mary’s church is deeply saddened by the loved ones, family, and friends who have died because of COVID-19; your church prays for you all. As a community and members of the mystical body of Christ, we are in pain and hurt for your loss. May our loving and gracious God console our bereaved hearts and bless you with His peace.

GIVING AND HELPING TOGETHER AS ONE BODY OF CHIRST

In this trying time, your church is aware of your struggles. Maybe this is too much to ask, but St. Mary’s Church humbly asks for your continued support. Without your support, our ministry serving the community would be almost impossible. May our good Lord, who is the source of all blessings, bless you bountifully for your generosity and kindness.  “Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corintians 9:7 NABRE)

at all times in the church.

We are trying our best to have everyone feel at ease and feel safe celebrating Holy Mass in person. If you have any symptoms, any compromising health issues and/or feel uneasy coming back to the parish community at this time, please stay home.

WEAR MASKS AND GLOVES

ANYTIME you come to church, please wear your face mask and gloves. If you do not have these items, St. Mary’s will provide masks and gloves on a table at the entrance of the church. Put on the mask and gloves before you enter the church.

DISINFECTING

The church will undergo disinfecting before and after services. However, (from now on wherever you go) it is highly recommended that you carry your own wipes and disinfect your area, so that you feel more at ease.

RECEPTION OF THE HOLY EUCHARIST

At Communion time, the Holy Eucharist will be received in your hands.
